Gate Operator Tips Available

Some gate operators must use high levels of force to move gates. If a gate system is not properly specified, installed, used, and maintained, serious injuries or death can result.

DASMA’s Gate Operator Committee has prepared a special Technical Data Sheet about gate operators. The new three-page document, TDS #352, includes:
• Gate situations that can lead to entrapment, injury, or death
• Appropriate safety features
• Applicable standards and compliance issues
• The role of specifiers and project designers in specifying gate systems
• The role of dealers, installers, and technicians
• The role of end users
• Hazards and precautions for horizontal slide gates and swing gates
